Double or triple for a crowd!
Ingredients
- 5 sheets puffed pastry (store bought)
- 500g sausage mince (store bought)
- 1 egg
- 1½ tablespoons French Onion dried soup mix
- 2 tablespoons tomato sauce (ketchup)
- 1 medium carrot, grated
- 2 cloves fresh garlic, peeled & finely chopped
- ½ cup grated cheese
- 1 extra egg, whisked (for glazing)
- 1 teaspoon of sesame or poppy seeds (optional)
Cooking Steps
1
Lay pastry sheets out on bench to thaw, ready for filling. In large mixing bowl combine all other ingredients, mixing well with clean hands (I use a plastic catering glove), until all ingredients are completely combined.
2
Make a roll of sausage mince into a sausage shape and place along the length of the pastry sheet.
3
Roll pastry over to encase the sausage. Brush each completed roll with a light layer of whisked egg, sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds (optional) .
4
Using a serrated edged knife divide each roll into 5 pieces/rolls.
Put rolls side by side (about finger width apart), on a large, greased baking tray/s.
5
Place tray/s in a hot , preheated oven (180°C / 360°F), for 25 minutes or until rolls are golden brown.
Serve with sweet chilli OR tomato sauce (ketchup).
